Finca Las Delicias Reserva, El Salvador The Reserva lot of Finca Las Delicias in 2011 is 100% heirloom bourbon coffee from upwards of 1750 meters in Apaneca-Ilamatepec, El Salvador. The Menendez family carefully scrutinizes the best lots, varietals and processing methods from this beautiful farm to find the combination best suited to be a "Reserva" lot. The 2011 Reserva lot is meticulously picked and utilizes the washed process before being sun-dried on raised wire mesh beds to allow maximum and consistent airflow in drying the beans. The result is a pleasant honey fragrance with a chocolate characteristic complemented by luscious dried plum, raisin and date, almost tipping into Merlot. Aaron was in El Salvador with Don Miguel Menendez and toured the farms owned by the Menendez family. Las Delicias was the coffee he was most excited to bring home for Brown customers. As it turns out, this is the same lot that was submitted to the 2011 El Salvador Cup Of Excellence jury. The coffee placed 7th out of 42 coffees submitted back in July.
